His public service continued alongside his private practice, including service as County Administrator for Forrest County, Forrest County Youth Court Referee, and Special Youth Court Judge for Forrest County.
For more than four decades since, Erik has been best known across the Pine Belt for his divorce and family law practice, guiding generations of Hattiesburg families through complex domestic matters with precision and care. His practice also spans estates and wills, commercial disputes, and personal injury, and he serves as a Mississippi State certified mediator, helping parties resolve family, commercial, and civil disputes without the cost and uncertainty of trial.
Erik’s peers have repeatedly entrusted him with oversight of the profession itself. He formerly served as Mississippi State Bar Complaints Counsel and as a member of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance, and he currently serves by appointment on the Mississippi State Bar Ethics Committee. He has also served on the Bi-racial Committee for the City of Hattiesburg Public Schools.
