He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998, then attended Tulane Law School, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 2001. During his legal studies he also studied abroad at the University of Wales, Swansea and the University of Cambridge.
